About Drum Lessons Arizona
Jeff has been teaching and performing for 28 years. He has
experience in jazz, rock, blues, latin, improv, musicals, creating
solos, double bass, drum line, and odd time signatures. Students
ages range form 5 years to 55, and all skill levels are welcome.
Jeff believes that teaching drumming can be approached in a
multidimensional fashion. That is to say that many aspects can
be added together to produce a well rounded drummer. Music
reading combined with jazz, improv, rock and blues, latin,
rudiment studies, and learning to play by ear can all be taught
together or separately to give students the tools necessary to
achieve their goals.

I have always enjoyed rhythm, percussion and
drumming. I performed vocal percussion (aka mouth
drumming or beat boxing) in my college and acapella
group, The USC Sirens (www.uscsirens.com). Six years
later, I wanted to see if I could transfer my vocal rhythm
to my hands and learn to play the 'real' drums! I was very
lucky to have found Jeff Farner to be my instructor.
His style and method of teaching really allows me to
excel greatly during each lesson. His experience with all
music styles brings the expertise I believe will help me to
continue to grow as a musician and as a drummer. I
